According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a woman approached the property and fired seven to nine rounds from what police described as an AR-15-style rifle. At least four rounds struck the house.

The front door of the property appeared to be riddled with bullet holes, and investigators were examining an Airstream trailer parked in the driveway.

The case will be handled by investigators from the Robbery-Homicide Division, the department announced.

Neighbors speak out

A neighbor reported that she was washing dishes when she was startled by the sudden sound of gunfire in the quiet neighborhood.

“I was a little surprised,” the woman told NBC4. “Incidents like this are not common in this neighborhood. Overall it was peaceful.”
