Gurbhej Singh, a 26-year-old man who was stabbed to death in west London, moved to the UK in 2022 after his family reportedly spent nearly Rs 2.4 million to support his travel abroad.Originally from Mehdipur village punjab provinceSingh was a Class XII passer in Tarn Taran district when he moved to the UK. His father Mukhtiar Singh is a farmer and owns about five acres of farmland in the area.Singh was killed in an incident in Southall, west London, in the early hours of June 10.According to the Metropolitan Police, officers were called shortly after 12.40am to reports of a stabbing near the intersection of North Road and Dormers Wells Lane. Singh suffered stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.Another man in his 30s was also injured and was discharged from hospital after treatment.Detectives have launched a murder investigation into Singh’s death. Seven men were arrested on suspicion of murder but six were released with no further action. One suspect has been released on bail pending further enquiries.Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell said investigators believe Singh was attacked outside a shop on the junction of North Road and Dormers Wells Lane at around 12.30am. Police are appealing for witnesses, CCTV footage and anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.The investigation is ongoing.
