Who is Andrea Shaw? Idaho mother blames vaccines for twins’ deaths, charged with murder by suffocation
More than a year after her 18-month-old twins died, idaho The mother, Andrea Shaw, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Shaw, 23, was arrested in Boise on June 29 following a grand jury indictment, police announced. She was held in the Ada County Jail and then extradited to Payette County to face charges.
The charges follow a year-long investigation into the deaths of the toddlers, who were found unresponsive in a shared bed in Payette in May 2025.
Who is Andrea Shaw?
Andrea Shaw is a 23-year-old Idaho resident from Payette. She came into the spotlight after the death of her 18-month-old twins in May 2025.
Shortly after the children’s deaths, Shaw and her husband appeared on a podcast produced by Children’s Health Defense, where they claimed the twins died after receiving three routine childhood vaccinations.
Children’s Health Defense is an anti-vaccine advocacy group that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. served as president before serving as secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
In the podcast interview, Shaw claimed vaccinations contributed to her child’s death. However, there is no public evidence to support this claim.
Her attorney, Joe Filicetti, also told KTVB that Shaw recently gave birth to a premature baby on June 25, just days before the indictment was handed down.

Investigation leads to murder indictment
According to Payette police, in May 2025, police responded to a home after twins were found dead in the same bed. At the time, police announced they suspected foul play and were treating the children’s deaths as homicides.
After more than a year of investigation, a grand jury issued an indictment on June 29 charging Shaw with two counts of first-degree murder.
