Democratic Senate Candidates Graham PlattnerIn the Maine Senate race, he is facing new accusations from two ex-girlfriends who spoke publicly to The New York Times. Two women, Lyndsey Fifield and Jenny Racicot, described his behavior as disturbing, degrading and, in some cases, physically intimidating.
The report emerged days after Plattner made online comments in the past, Kik account Personal information explodes online. Plattner has denied or refuted several allegations that emerged during the campaign, including those made by his ex-girlfriend.
Fifield and Racicott publicly identified themselves and detailed their experiences, which included references to physical confrontations. However, his campaign dismissed the accusations that it involved a physical confrontation.
Lindsay FifieldThe report, which calls her a Virginia conservative, said she dated Plattner from 2013 to 2015.
According to the New York Times, Fifield disputed Plattner’s previous assertion that he was unaware of the historical significance of the Tottenkopf symbol, a skull and crossbones symbol associated with Nazi Germany. Fifield told the newspaper that Plattner had referred to the tattoo as “my Totenkopf” several years ago.
She also claimed that Plattner became physically abusive at times during their relationship, especially when he drank. However, she stressed that he never hit or assaulted her, but she said he grabbed her shoulder tightly enough to leave a wound. He apparently grabbed her wrist to pull her out of a taxi and on another occasion, after an argument, twisted her arms behind her back and confined her to a room.
“It’s painful,” Fifield told the newspaper. She added: “It didn’t cause any damage and it didn’t break my arm.”
The report also details Plattner’s alleged comments about dominance and violence. “he [Platner] “If someone broke in here, I would rape them,” Fifield told the outlet, but not “in a sexual way, not in a gay way.”
“He said I would rape them to show them my dominance,” she said. Fifield said Plattner also referred to women in relationships as “axe-wounded.”
on the contraryJenny RacicottAnother former partner described her relationship with Plattner as largely positive but said she was not surprised by the controversial comments that emerged during the campaign.
According to the report, Racicott said that after reading some of Plattner’s comments, her reaction was: “That makes sense. This man has no respect for women.”
Racicott also claimed that Plattner came to her home drunk in 2021, after she had previously asked Plattner not to come to her home. While she declined to provide details, she described the incident as “reckless” and “disturbing” and said she ended contact with him soon after.
