After the FBI released a black-and-white photo of the suspect, unsubstantiated claims began circulating online suggesting the man may be Tommaso Scioniwho was the husband of Guthrie’s daughter Anne. Others speculate that this person is related to mark orchardpointing out the similarities in their eyes and facial hair.

Authorities have not confirmed the claims. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office, which is overseeing the investigation, issued a statement consistent with the FBI, saying no briefings were scheduled.
