The vice president’s office said Vance will not take formal paternity leave but plans to work around his own schedule in the coming months, People reported.

Other Cabinet officials will still attend the dinner, including the FBI director Kashi PatelDefense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, according to reports.
According to People magazine, White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt told Fox News that the president and the White House are looking forward to “a great and fun evening celebrating 250 years of American greatness and a free press.”
Trump is expected to speak at the dinner around 9 p.m. ET, and Levitt said he looked forward to “finishing what he started,” adding, “An unforgettable speech that everyone should tune in to.”
President Trump is scheduled to speak during the dinner. Earlier, he wrote: “I don’t know if I’ll make the same nasty comments, at least to some people, but we’ll find out soon enough. Regardless, this will be a ‘hot’ ticket!”
What happened at the first White House Correspondents’ Dinner?
The dinner, held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Washington, D.C., comes nearly three months after a dinner scheduled for April 25 was cut short after a gunman approached a ballroom at the Washington Hilton hotel where Trump and other senior officials and reporters had gathered.
The suspect, Cole Tomas Allen, was restrained one floor above the ballroom after he allegedly fired at a Secret Service officer who was wearing a bulletproof vest. Allen has been accused of trying to assassinate Trump, but has pleaded not guilty.
