The warning comes as dry weather, strong winds and unusually warm temperatures could cause fires to ignite and spread quickly.

Several U.S. states, including parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming and New Mexico, have been placed under red flag warnings in recent weeks because of conditions that could lead to wildfires.
