Retired U.S. Air Force Major General William Neil McCasland Months after his disappearance in New Mexico, he remains at the center of an ongoing mystery, with a newly released photo now drawing attention to the case and its connection to UFO-related accusations.

The photo shows McCasland leaving a sporting goods store in Albuquerque on February 27, the same day he was reported missing from his home, the Mirror reported. McCasland’s disappearance has become the subject of online speculation, with reports suggesting he may have had access to classified military and UFO-related information during his Air Force career.
According to the Mirror, McCasland’s wife, Susan Wilkerson, told investigators that McCasland left home at about 11 a.m. local time without carrying his cell phone, wallet, wearable devices or prescription sunglasses.
Shortly after he disappeared, she reportedly told a 911 dispatcher: “He left his phone, he changed his clothes, I don’t know what. I think he was on foot.”
Wilkerson further claimed that the retired general “planned not to be discovered.”

The contents of the package remain unknown. However, the outlet quoted some online users as saying that a smaller yellow item seen in the image resembled a lightweight first aid kit.

UFO related claims
The case has drawn attention after allegations emerged that McCasland was linked to sensitive aerospace and military research projects.
The Mirror quoted an unidentified woman as saying that she and a member of the U.S. Space Force had dinner with McCaslan the night before he disappeared. The woman claimed the retired officer had ties to the Air Force Research Laboratory project and mentioned his name appearing in “UFO documents” expected to be released publicly.
The witness also claimed McCasland appeared unusually quiet and distracted during the meeting, describing him as “different than usual.”
