New Delhi: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat Wednesday criticized the United States and China, claiming that “Western countries spread fundamentalism” and claiming that India holds the solutions to many of the world’s problems.Speaking at Lucknow University’s Shodharthi Samvad programme, Bhagwat said, “Western countries are spreading fundamentalism. Their idea is to become strong, to be self-reliant, to abandon the rest and to eliminate those who are obstacles. This is what the US and China are doing today.”
Bhagwat believes that India can provide solutions to the global crisis, but it must first strengthen its own strength.“Today, India has found answers to the problems facing the world. If we want to be a world leader, we must become strong in every field. Only when truth is backed by power will the world believe it,” he said.“Research plays an important role in changing the direction and conditions of India. The real information should be revealed. We will not be able to understand India through ignorance,” he added. He further claimed that Western powers had distorted India’s traditional education system. “The West screwed up education. They replaced our education system and imposed their own so they could find black British people to do the job. What the British did wrong must be corrected,” he said.“Globalization today means marketisation, which is dangerous. We talk about Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. It means we consider the entire world as our family. No one will be happy unless everyone is happy,” he said.“Therefore, our life should be one of restraint and not of consumerism. A life of restraint and sacrifice is the self-realization of our culture,” he added.“Not a speck of dust can be worldly”When talking about religion, Bhagwat said that religion always has practical significance and governs the laws of the universe. “The eternal nature of religion is always relevant. Religion is the law by which the universe operates. Not a speck of dust can be secular,” he said.“Religion brings happiness to everyone. Religion applies to everything we do. Our behavior changes according to religion, country and time. Religion tells us that we should live with everyone and not alone,” he added.Bhagwat also emphasized the importance of environmental protection and urged people to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.galvapusi (Returning to the country) should be acceleratedEarlier on Tuesday, Bhagwat expressed concern over the “declining Hindu population”. He called for an end to religious conversions allegedly driven by greed or coercion, according to a press release. He said the ‘Ghar Wapsi’ (return) process should be expedited and those returning to Hinduism must be supported.Bhagwat further said that Hindus should have at least three children. Citing scientific research, he said societies with fewer than three children on average would face long-term decline. He added that newlyweds should be informed of this perspective.
