West Bengal polls: ED arrests I-PAC director and co-founder
New Delhi: Ten days after ED conducted raids on officials of political consulting firm I-PAC at various locations in Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai, the company on Monday arrested Vinesh Chandel, a director and co-founder of the firm. I-PAC is a political consulting firm whose clients include Trinamool and DMK. He will be brought to a special court in Delhi for custodial interrogation. Chandel’s arrest is in connection with ED’s ongoing probe into I-PAC in a money laundering case related to the alleged coal scam in West Bengal by polls. On April 2, the EC raided the residence of Vijay Nair, former communications adviser to AAP and one of the accused in the Delhi liquor scam case. Sources said Vijay Nair’s dealings with I-PAC are under investigation, as are certain transactions involving past payments to the political consulting firm.
