West Bengal elections phase 2: Timings, schedule and other details you need to know
New Delhi: The second phase of the West Bengal assembly elections is scheduled to take place on Wednesday with voting taking place in 142 constituencies from 7 am to 6 pm.The constituency council numbers participating in the polls are 77 to 202 and 259 to 274 respectively. Counting of all phases will take place on May 4, when the next government in the state will be decided.
What voters need to know
Voters must present a valid photo ID at a designated polling station. Acceptable documents include Elector’s Identity Card (EPIC), Aadhaar card or passport. People without proper identification will not be allowed to vote.Cell phones are strictly prohibited in polling stations. Voters are also advised not to wear or display any party symbols while at the polls.

How to verify your vote
After pressing the button on the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), voters should check the Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machine to confirm that their vote was accurately recorded.Authorities urge voters to arrive at polling stations as early as possible, especially in high-density precincts, to avoid long queues and ensure a smooth voting experience.Bangladesh recorded a historic 93.2% turnout in the first phase of elections and has made security arrangements for the second phase to ensure free and fair elections.
