Mamata Banerjee The party on Saturday slammed the exit poll results, saying it was aimed at “manipulating the stock market” and told party colleagues in a virtual address that the Trinamool “is winning and winning by over 200 seats.”“
Banerjee urged vote counters not to leave their desks even for a minute without a replacement, advising them not to worry if postal ballot results initially went against the party.
She and Trinamool national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee alleged that “the BJP is using the Election Commission” and that party workers and supporters are being selectively targeted. The CM said she would reward workers who “bravely withstood these attacks and fought back”.
Trinamool Congress A list of senior party personnel responsible for coordinating with ground staff on counting day was also announced. Abhishek will oversee South 24 Parganas.
Meanwhile, Bengal opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari called on all political parties to remain peaceful ahead of the counting of votes, urging them to accept the people’s mandate and avoid a repeat of the post-poll violence that followed the 2021 elections.
“Let there be peace in Bengal. The elections are over and every political party should be involved in counting the votes. Whatever competition existed during the polls should end now,” Adhikari said while emerging from the EVM vault after his visit on Friday evening.
Citing the violence in 2021, which
