“I highly doubt it,” he continued. “Is this really a kidnapping? Did someone really kidnap her? Is she really alive?”

The revised amount allegedly requested by the kidnappers also appears to be unique to Swick.

“Now remember, not so long ago it was a million. All of a sudden, it’s six million,” he said. “I really think there are third parties here playing them, opportunists who think they can take advantage of the situation.”

Missing Nancy Guthrie: Officials search septic tank, manhole

Arizona law enforcement continued to search for Nancy and inspected the septic tank and manhole at her million-dollar home in the Catalina Foothills.

Pima County Law Enforcement has confirmed that the department will continue to be stationed at the 84-year-old’s home.

“Media and the public are reminded to obey all traffic and private property laws. Trespassing will not be permitted on Guthrie’s property. Any violations will be enforced,” police said Sunday, adding that the request was made by Savannah Guthrie’s family.
