New Delhi: At least four people were hospitalized after a gas leak occurred at a factory in Gujarat’s Valsad district on Friday morning.The incident took place in Saligam town, which is an industrial notified area. According to officials of the Gujarat Pollution Control Board, a gas leak occurred in the reactor of Cynax Metachem, causing eye irritation to those working at the plant.Four people, including company owner Vinod Patel, were admitted to hospital after being affected by the leak, the official said.Authorities quickly cordoned off the area around the factory to prevent further exposure. The gas leak was controlled using sand and sodium bicarbonate, officials added.The exact nature of the gases released during the manufacturing process remains unclear. The police have begun investigating the cause of the incident.
