US vlogger films crew on Pakistani bus: ‘This is so weird’

“The city of Yap in a Pakistani bus,” the vlogger wrote and shared video on Instagram. A text was inserted at the beginning of the video that read “Pakistani security on the bus.” It then shows a man holding a camera filming passengers sitting in the car.

“I’ve never seen this before, it’s so weird,” the American vlogger said. He then shared his surprise that the bus left on time. “We left on time at 9:30am, you can see the clock up there. 9:30 on time, they don’t play around. There was no Ryanair bulls**t on this bus. We left on time at 9:30.”

He showed the interior of the bus and then expressed his joy at riding in an air-conditioned bus. Talking about the ticket price, he said it cost 3,000 Pakistani rupees, which is about a little more than 13 US dollars. $900. “I think it’s a good deal for a six-hour, five-and-a-half-hour trip in hot weather.”

As the video plays, a staff member with a video camera begins recording the passengers. The vlogger said the person may have done it for security purposes, but added that it was a strange thing to do.

After a while, the hostess handed him a bottle of water. She then asked him if he was filming the video, to which the vlogger responded “no.”

How was the social media reaction?

One person claimed, “This video is for safety reasons and if God forbid there is an accident, they will know who is in the car, etc.” Another added, “That’s how I see it… If I were in another person’s country, I would obey their laws. I’ve never had a problem traveling. I remind myself, this is not my country. This is their country. But that’s just me.”

However, some people slammed the vlogger, claiming she recorded the bus attendant without her consent. One person said, “Ordinary, cheap Westerners. Why are you recording the hostess? How dare you say no to her face. Westerners come to our country for influence and views!! Leave us alone, we don’t need your attention.”

A fourth wrote: “The bus maid asked if your camera was on and you said no…!”
