The mayor of a small town in Georgia fired the entire police department after the officers apparently made some offensive comments on social media about his wife, who used to work for the council. While the resolution is now public, a notice posted on the door of the Cohutta Police Department on Wednesday read: “The Police Department has been disbanded and all personnel have been terminated.”The deputies are expected to assume law enforcement services in the city.“They’re going to get paid. We’re not like that and I appreciate their service, okay?
