New Delhi: Two oil tankers carrying Iranian crude oil have arrived at Indian ports, the first such deliveries since May 2019. The Felicity, a very large crude oil tanker carrying about 2 million barrels of oil, was anchored near Thika on the coast of Gujarat state late Sunday, according to Kpler ship tracking data. A second tanker, Jaya, also carrying a similar amount of crude oil, anchored near Paradip off the Odisha coast around the same time. Both Felicity and Jaya load at Khag Island, Iran’s largest seaport, which handles nearly 90% of the country’s oil exports. Felicity shipped goods in mid-March and Jaya in late February, as military tensions between the U.S.-Israeli coalition and Iran escalated. However, the shipping ministry said it was unaware of the existence of the two ships.
