Trump says the war with Iran is “coming to an end.” Send 10,000 new soldiers

Dubai/Washington: President of the United States Donald Trump He and Israel’s war against Iran was “nearly over” on Wednesday, even as U.S. troops sent 10,000 additional troops into West Asia and Pakistan’s Army Chief of Staff Asim Munir arrived in Tehran with a mediation team to try to prevent a renewed conflict. The Washington Post cited current and former U.S. officials as saying the U.S. would send additional troops by the end of April as Washington seeks to increase pressure on Tehran. These include units aboard the USS George H.W. Bush and Boxer Amphibious Ready Group. It was previously reported that approximately 50,000 soldiers participated in the war against Iran. The build-up comes as the United States and Iran work to extend a two-week ceasefire. A senior Iranian source told Reuters that Munir, who had mediated the previous round of talks, traveled to Iran to “narrow the differences” between the two sides. “I think you’re going to see amazing things in the next two days,” Trump told ABC News reporter Jonathan Kahl, according to a reporter’s post on X, adding that he didn’t see a need to extend the ceasefire. “I think it’s very close to being over, yes. I mean I think it’s very close to being over,” Trump said in an interview with Fox Business Network on Tuesday that aired Wednesday. “We’ll see what happens. I think they really want to make a deal.
