President of the United States Donald Trump Talks with Iran are progressing “very well” and Tehran has agreed to allow U.S. personnel to enter the country and recover buried nuclear material in coordination with Iranian authorities after the war ends, it said on Wednesday.“It’s very, very difficult to get it… but nonetheless, I want to get it,” Trump told reporters at the White House.Despite recent attacks in the region, Trump said the U.S.-Iran ceasefire that took effect in early April remained in place, suggesting a tentative deal could be reached “over the weekend” as negotiations progress.“The negotiations themselves are going very well — in fact, very well — and even if it happens, it may not happen, but if it does, it may happen like it did over the weekend,” Trump said.Trump claimed that Iranian officials “have changed their minds a few times, but as things stand, we will be involved at some point in the not-too-distant future.”ALSO READ | ‘I’m a little disturbed’: Donald Trump confirms calling Netanyahu ‘crazy’ over Lebanon attacksIn sharp contrast, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Wednesday that “no substantial progress” has been made in talks to end the war in the Middle East.“Communications with the Americans have not been cut off and information has been exchanged on stopping the aggression against Beirut, but the negotiation process has not yet made substantial progress,” Tasnim news agency quoted Araghchi as telling Lebanese Al Mayadeen TV.Araghchi warned that any Israeli attack on Beirut would trigger a “full resumption” of the conflict. “Any attack on Beirut will have serious consequences and will lead to a full-scale resumption of the war. Our armed forces are ready to strike against Israel if it attacks Beirut.”The Iranian navy also targeted a “command center” aboard an American destroyer in the Gulf of Oman in response to U.S. “violations” in the Strait of Hormuz and “hostile” actions against Iranian ships, state-run IRIB TV reported on Wednesday.
