As part of the investigation, police will issue a notice to Iqbal and seek his response.The woman claimed in her complaint that she suffered years of physical and mental abuse during their marriage. She claimed that whenever her husband returned from Kuwait, disputes would begin shortly after his arrival and often escalated into harassment and physical violence.The complainant stated that she had been living separately from her two sons, aged 16 and 10 years, in Banswara and was solely responsible for their upbringing. She also claimed that she stayed away from her husband’s relatives, including her mother-in-law and sister-in-law, due to ongoing tensions in family relations.Police said statements from relevant parties will be recorded as part of the investigation. As the defendant currently resides overseas, authorities will follow prescribed legal procedures to contact him and ensure his participation in the case.The case has attracted attention because triple talaq, also known as instant divorce, was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court before legislation was passed to criminalize it in 2019. The law makes this practice a punishable offense in India.The investigation continues.
