Anshul Kuncha family: Indian man shot to death in Philadelphia, sister calls ‘fake pizza delivery trap’

The deceased’s name is anshul kunchaI worked for a multinational company and supplemented my income by working part-time as a pizza delivery supervisor on weekends.

On Saturday night, he received a “fake” delivery request that took him to an isolated area. When he arrived, an unknown assailant opened fire, hitting Anshul multiple times in the head before fleeing the scene.

In addition, the family also mentioned that Anshul was robbed in the United States and his necklace, mobile phone and cash were all taken away. However, he had never experienced a life-threatening attack before this incident.

Anshul’s sister Tanvi claimed the pizza delivery was a “trap” designed to “kill him”.

“He was told to deliver pizza in an abandoned area, but we later learned it was a decoy. There was no one there; it was a trap just to kill him. We don’t know what they got or what their intentions were. They took my brother and killed him,” she said.

She also urged authorities to expedite the return of her brother’s body to India. “My brother was a loving and happy man. He had been in the United States for almost four years. We learned that he was trapped and shot over a false pizza delivery request. Our only request is that his body be returned to India as soon as possible.”

Tanvi said authorities have informed the family of the deceased and the body will be handed over on Monday. She, however, pleaded with officials to speed up the process so that the family could perform the last rites in time. Additionally, she called for justice for her brother, saying the family did not have any particular suspicions about those involved but wanted those responsible identified and held accountable.

“This is a message to all parents considering sending their children to the United States: My brother is a very loving and happy man. He had no real reason to go to the United States, but we sent him anyway. He didn’t want to go either, but he went and saw what he would get. Don’t send your children to the United States,” she said.

“We are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Mr. Anshul Kuncha, an Indian national in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We extend our deepest condolences and condolences to his family at this difficult time. The Consulate is in contact with Anshul’s family and is providing all possible assistance,” the consulate said in a post on X.

Kuncha, whose family lives in Gundlapochampally in Medchal-Malkajgiri district on the outskirts of Hyderabad, moved to the United States four years ago after receiving a job offer there, according to his sister.
