Tornadoes in Flint, Michigan? Terrifying video appears to show landing in Freeland as sirens sound
Flint, Michigan, was under a tornado warning on Tuesday, and images showed a tornado that appeared to touch down in Freeland, about 51.3 miles (82.6 kilometers) away.
One person said Flint was sounding the alarm. “So tornado sirens were going off everywhere else? Because I live in Holly, but I was driving north in the rain on 75 home,” they wrote.

Meanwhile, a group of storm chasers shared a video of the apparent landing. However, they noted that the obvious landing site was at Freeland.

The National Weather Service has issued a warning explain “A tornado warning is in effect for Flint, Michigan, Beecher, Michigan, and Flushing, Michigan until 2:00 PM ET.” The University of Michigan-Flint also issued a warning to students explain “A tornado warning is issued for Genesee County until 2 p.m. Please move indoors to the lowest level and away from windows.” The NWS also noted that “a tornado warning for Freeland, Michigan is in effect until 1:15 p.m. ET.”

The Bridgeport Fire Department released a statement regarding Freeland, explain “Unfortunately, an unexpected tornado warning for Saginaw County does appear to be warranted. A possible tornado may make landfall in Freeland. Damage assessment is ongoing.”
