Kings XI Punjab won the match and opted to take part in a high-stakes clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad, with both sides looking to make a comeback after their recent IPL 2026 defeats. This game brings together two of the most explosive hitting units in the league. Kings XI Punjab currently top the table with 13 points, but two consecutive losses have intensified the competition. Sunrisers Hyderabad are close behind in third place with 12 points, making this game a crucial encounter in the playoffs. Both teams suffered defeats, with Kolkata Knight Riders ending SRH’s five-game winning streak while Gujarat Titans defeated PBKS. Captain PBKS Shreyas Iyer Opting to bowl first, he backed his team to chase down SRH, which they had successfully done in their previous matches. He also highlighted what the team has learned from recent defeats and confirmed one change in the XI. “We will bowl first. We have learned amazingly in the last few games we have lost so far. We have not complained so far because of travel. Everyone has performed like professionals. Last game SRH was chasing, so I think we will bowl. Shashank came in,” he said. Captain of SRH Pat Cummins Admits he would also rather bowl, but remains confident of posting a strong total. “I will bowl first as well. Hopefully we perform well tonight. The crowd has supported us very well this season. I can’t really judge the pitch and hopefully we can get some results on the board. Nitish is back tonight,” he said, confirming the return of Nitish Kumar Reddy.team:punjab kings (Played XI): Prabhsimran Singh (w), Cooper Connolly, Shreyas Iyer (c), Shashank Singh, Suryansh Shedge, Marcus Stoinis, Marco Jansen, Lockie Ferguson, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal.Sunriser Hotel Hyderabad (Play Eleven): Abhishek SharmaTravis Head, Ishan Kishan, Heinrich KlassenSalil Arora, Smaran Ravichandran, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Pat Cummins(c), Shivang Kumar, Eshan Malinga, Sakib Hussain With both teams possessing strong hitters and plenty of opponents, a high-scoring game could happen.
