New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi On Sunday, he intensified his attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) over the women’s reservation bill, claiming that the party was opposed to increasing women’s political representation and was opposed to passing the 33% quota bill.Addressing a rally in Bengal’s Bankura, Prime Minister Modi said, “Bengal women wanted 33 per cent reservation. Modi ensured this… but the TMC does not want more daughters of Bengal to become MLAs and MPs.” He said the party had “conspired” with the Congress to block the legislation, saying it reflected what he called the “Maha Jungle Raj” of the state.

He further said that the core political identity of the BJP depends on women empowerment and security. He further criticized the bill’s failure in the Lok Sabha, adding that the opposition had “betrayed our Bengali sisters yet again” by stalling the bill in Parliament.Further, on the state government’s governance and welfare provision, the Prime Minister said the BJP prioritizes “security of sisters, respect of mothers and sisters and your prosperity”. He claimed that women in Bengal did not receive benefits comparable to those in the BJP-ruled state and promised that a change in government would ensure stronger benefits, including free ration support for poor women. The Prime Minister urged people to vote for the BJP and further promised incentives such as support for pregnant women. “If the BJP government is formed in Bengal, women will get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. If anyone in a woman’s family suffers from kidney disease? They will also receive free dialysis in government hospitals. Not a single rupee will be spent,” he said.“Sisters in Bengal will get Rs 36,000 every year. Pregnant women will get Rs 21,000. The central government will also provide Rs 5,000 to sisters who give birth to children for their daughter’s education. Rs 50,000 will be provided… Under the Mudra scheme, self-employed women will get Rs 20 lakh. Women engaged in agriculture will get an additional Rs 9,000 per annum…BJP’s twin-engine government will give dual mission to sisters in Bengal,” he added.Prime Minister Modi also used the rally attendance to highlight the heightened public sentiment, saying the crowds reflected both enthusiasm and anger. He cheered the crowd and added that “the atmosphere… also symbolizes anger against the brutal government” while claiming that public support for the BJP was growing across the state. The Prime Minister also escalated his political attack, claiming that the TMC was hostile to tribal women and girls and cited the election of President Droupadi Murmu as an example of the BJP’s commitment to empowering marginalized communities. Rival political parties opposed her rise, he said, adding that she now represents India on the global stage.
