U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he had to decide between a deal with Iran or a deal “some other way”, which he said was not “good”.He added that he preferred to deal with Iran in a “friendly manner.”“Now I have to make a decision: Do we sign a deal, or do we… do it another way? And the other way is not good,” Trump told the New York Post. The U.S. leader was then asked what such “other ways” would achieve. He replied: “Of course… it will all end. There won’t be anything. There won’t be any talks. There won’t be any delays. But from a humanitarian point of view, I’d rather do it in a good way.”The reporter then asked Trump if all this could be accomplished through bombing. In response, he said, “Yeah, you don’t have to do that. We don’t need ground troops. We wiped out most of their army just with bombing. We didn’t put anyone on the ground. You don’t want to do that if you can avoid it. You’re too far away.”The Republican leader’s comments came a day after Iran attacked Kuwait’s main international airport, targeting a key U.S. ally and a ceasefire already under strain. In retaliation for the US-Israeli attack on Iran in late February that sparked conflict in the Middle East, the Islamic Republic has repeatedly targeted Washington’s allies in the region. The ceasefire between the United States and Iran takes effect on April 8.The truce was announced a day after Trump sparked controversy when he wrote in a Truth Society post that “entire civilization will die tonight.”
