NEW DELHI: The pilgrimage to the Kailash and the holy lake organized by the Ministry of External Affairs in coordination with the Chinese government will be held from June to August 2026 for the second consecutive year. Last year, China reopened the Yatra after there were signs of improvement in bilateral relations following the completion of the troop disengagement process in eastern Ladakh.This year, it is planned that 10 batches of 50 yatris each will pass through Uttarakhand and transit at Lipulekh pass; another 10 batches of 50 yatris each will pass through Sikkim and transit at Nathu La.MEA said Yatris will be selected from applicants through a computer-generated gender-balanced selection process. “Applicants can register on the website and submit their applications,” the MEA added.
