Texas man shoots illegal immigrants ten times to protect family of eight during attempted carjacking

A man identified by investigators as an undocumented immigrant from Mexico was shot to death after trying to hijack a car carrying his father’s entire family, including several children, in Texas.According to Fox 4 Dallas, the suspect, Jose Ramirez, 30, was killed in Dallas on Sunday afternoon.Ramirez caused a collision between two vehicles around 3:30 p.m., then fled toward a nearby gas station and attempted to forcibly steal multiple vehicles.Police say he eventually approached a white Chevrolet Impala parked outside a convenience store with a father in the driver’s seat and family members inside.Authorities said “several children and two adult females” were in the vehicle at the time.Surveillance video obtained by FOX 4 Dallas shows Ramirez confronting the driver and trying to take control of the vehicle. A fight then broke out between the two men and family members, including a young boy, broke out of the car and ran to safety.During the confrontation, the father pulled out a gun and shot Ramirez more than 10 times. Ramirez was taken to a hospital but later died from his injuries.Police said the father remained at the scene after the shooting, cooperated fully with investigators and turned his weapon over to officers. Garland police said the man is not expected to face criminal charges and are treating the incident as self-defense.Ramirez is a Mexican national living illegally in the United States and is not a resident of Garland. It is unclear when or where he entered the country.The incident has reignited debates over illegal immigration and self-defense laws in the United States, especially in Texas, where gun ownership and Stand Your Ground protections remain politically sensitive issues.
