Tenkasi is an important constituency in Tamil Nadu located in Tenkasi district, known for fierce electoral contests. In the 2021 parliamentary elections, S. Palani Nadar of the Indian National Congress narrowly defeated Selva Mohandos Pandian (Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazagam) of the All India Party by a margin of 370 votes to win the seat. The constituency once again witnessed a hotly contested contest with Naam Tamilar Katchi’s Gowshik Pandiyan joining the fray, intensifying the rivalry between the major parties. The Tenkasi Assembly seat falls under the Tenkasi Lok Sabha constituency. In the 2024 general elections, Rani Srikumar of the Dravida Munnetra Kazagam won the parliamentary seat by defeating K. Krishnasamy of the AIADMK by 196,199 votes.
