New Delhi: NDA allies extended full support to the three bills during the Lok Sabha debate on Friday.Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, floor leader of the southern ally TDP, said the party will support the bills to pave the way for delimitation and reservation for women, based on the “assurance” of Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.He referred to Shah’s speech in the House on Thursday that the number of seats in each state would be increased by 50 per cent proportionally, with Andhra Pradesh’s LS seats expected to increase from 25 to 38.JDS’s HD Kumaraswamy expressed support, calling the DMK’s opposition to the Women’s Bill amendment “fear-mongering” and said claims that southern states would fail were misleading. He added that Congress has lost touch with the grassroots and is unprepared for the changes the bill will bring.Other allies also support the bill. Union minister and JDU Neta Rajiv Ranjan Singh said the amendment was not rushed and pointed out that the government took three years to do the groundwork. Union minister Anupriya Patel said the bills offer an opportunity to make history and urged all members to support them.
