T20I rankings: India retain No. 1 spot – Where are Pakistan and Sri Lanka?

India continue to lead the ICC Men’s T20I rankings ahead of England and Australia in the latest update released on Tuesday. India recently created history by winning the T20 World Cup for the third time in March, becoming the first team to successfully defend the title. The event is co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.“The latest ranking rate for all competitions from May 2025 is 100% and the ranking rate for the previous two years is 50%,” the International Cricket Council said on its website.India currently has 275 rating points. England is second with 262 points, followed by Australia in third with 258 points. The gap between India and the UK has narrowed slightly, but India remains firmly on top.

Where are the Asian neighbors Pakistan and Sri Lanka?

The top seven teams all maintained their positions in the standings. New Zealand is fourth with 247 points, followed by South Africa (244 points), Pakistan (240 points) and West Indies (233 points).Sri Lanka slipped to ninth position after losing six points, while Bangladesh climbed to eighth position with 225 points. Afghanistan ranked tenth with 220 points, trailing only Sri Lanka. Zimbabwe and Ireland continue to occupy the 11th and 12th positions.“North American cricket continues to be a rising power, with the United States jumping two places after picking up six points and is expected to rise to 13th, overtaking the Netherlands and Scotland, who are ranked 14th and 15th respectively,” the International Cricket Federation said.Namibia remains in 16th place. Nepal moved up to 17th place, ahead of the United Arab Emirates, while Oman surpassed Canada and climbed to 19th place.“The number of teams in the rankings dropped from 102 to 98 as Fiji, Gambia, Greece and Israel did not qualify as they did not play the requisite eight T20I matches in the past three years,” the ICC said.
