Sonny Joy Nelson Family: As Trump’s special assistant leaves White House, it’s all about husband, kids and second pregnancy

A proud North Carolinian, Nelson One of the first communications staffers for Trump’s 2024 campaign, she serves as director of media affairs and has served in various communications roles in Trumpworld since 2020.

Nelson expects her second child, a boy, to be born this fall. Friday is her last day at school White House.

According to the wedding trailer produced by Freehand Films, the couple has been in a relationship since at least 2021. Their wedding took place at Cornealius Properties in North Carolina, where Nelson wore a gown from Carolina Bridal World Triangle.

On August 14, 2023, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Isaiah Samuel. “He was his dad’s biggest fan and his mom’s heart and soul,” Nelson said in an Instagram post commemorating his first birthday.

“Sunny is the best media booker in the business — and it’s not even close. Sunny has the most extensive network of media contacts in politics. But most importantly, she is respected by everyone she works with because she is a hard worker and a great person,” she said.

Nelson told me that the name of her media relations and public affairs firm “was inspired by Jesus, who is the cornerstone of my life and the foundation of my company. Our goal is to create media that not only looks good, but communicates something real and lasting.”
