A small plane crashed near Austin, Texas, killing all five people on board, according to a county official.Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra said in a Facebook post on Friday that the incident happened Thursday night in Wimberley, about 40 miles (64 kilometers) southwest of Austin.Becerra confirmed that the plane involved was a Cessna 421C and said early information suggested the plane was flying at high speed when it went down around 11 p.m.“All five people on board were killed,” the official said, adding that the victims’ identities had not been released and authorities were waiting to notify their families.He also noted that a second plane operating in the same area landed safely near San Antonio.Becerra said federal agencies have taken over the investigation. “The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have been notified and will lead the crash investigation,” he said.
