The New York Police Department (NYPD) said that on the evening of Friday, July 4, a shooting occurred in Coney Island, Brooklyn, injuring at least eight people, including four children.Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2900 block of West 31st Street around 10:37 p.m. local time, ABC News reported, citing a statement from the New York Police Department.The victims included two men, aged 37 and 33, two women, aged 25 and 21, and four boys, aged 14, 12, 7 and 6. Their identities have not been released.“All victims were transported by EMS to local hospitals, with seven of them in stable condition,” the NYPD said, adding, “The 21-year-old female is in critical condition.”Investigators recovered a firearm at the scene, but no arrests had been made as of Saturday evening. The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation.
