Shooting at U.S. Consulate in Toronto; Canadian police investigating

Toronto police are investigating after a shooting occurred at the U.S. Consulate in downtown Toronto, Ont., on Tuesday morning, authorities said. Police responded to the scene near University Avenue and Queen Street West around 5:29 a.m. local time after receiving reports of shots fired inside the consulate building.When police arrived, they found evidence of a shooting and signs of gunfire on parts of the consulate property.No injuries were reported and no arrests were made. Toronto police said they have no information on a suspect, motive or possible suspects. Investigators remain on scene and a portion of University Avenue has been closed while the investigation continues. Police are asking for witnesses with information or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.The U.S. Consulate is located in a bustling area of ​​downtown Toronto, close to City Hall and Provincial Parliament.The incident comes amid other security concerns involving U.S. diplomatic missions abroad. Norwegian police are still searching for a suspect after an improvised device exploded outside the U.S. Embassy in Oslo, Norway, on Sunday, causing no injuries but minor damage.
