However, one of the spectators, Kanta Kishore, became angry and started abusing the umpire and the players,” inspector Malleswara Rao said.“After the match, Ajith Babu, Chiranjeevi and a few friends went to a nearby place. Once they reached there, another argument broke out. Kishore suddenly pulled out a knife and attacked both the umpires,” Rao said.Ajith was stabbed by Kishore and fell down on the spot. He was taken to hospital for treatment, but doctors pronounced him dead.Chiranjeevi was also injured in the attack.Ajith’s father, Dola Appala Raju, filed a murder complaint against Kishore.Ajith’s brother (who was not named) claimed that the accused, a resident of a neighboring colony, was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the attack. He further claimed that the dispute over the single run was resolved with the intervention of village elders but the accused later planned the attack.“…During the match, an argument broke out during a match. The argument became violent and the person who attempted murder was not a cricketer. He is a resident of Vinayak Nagar. He intervened and used abusive language, leading to a serious altercation between the two teams. Later, the village elders came over personally to solve the problem. After it was all over, at night, under the influence of alcohol, they planned the attack. With a knife in his pocket, he came to Padigadli intersection and called Chiranjeevi. “The victim’s brother told NDTV.“He started shouting and arguing. Suddenly, he took out a knife from his pocket and stabbed Dora Ajith on the chest. We tried to catch Kishore but he ran away. We rushed Ajith Babu to VIMS hospital, but no doctor was present, so we shifted him to Apollo hospital. Around 8.15 pm, doctors declared him brought dead,” he added.
