Canada attacks: B.C. school shooting leaves dozens dead; PM Carney calls for unity

“I let her go. I let her go to school with her brother Ethan in the morning, just. I was so immersed in that moment watching them walk in the door together for some reason that I had no idea it would be the last time they would go to school together.”Asked how he knew about it, the father said: “Ethan made the call about three o’clock after texting him and saying ‘I love you’. He called and said he was in the utility room, that he was hiding, and that he didn’t know where Kelly was. “He also said that the police were not informed of his wife’s death and that it was a “hero” who performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on her for 45 minutes. He went on to say that nine hours later, the “hero” told him that his daughter had died. “Beautiful soul. She was the light of our family. She loved art and animation. She wanted to go to school in Toronto and she loved her so much. She excelled in high school. She never hurt her soul. She was a supporter, an LGBTQ supporter,” the father said of his daughter. “She’s the last person who deserves this. Seventh grade. Seventh grade? Yeah. 12 years old. She has her 13th birthday in three months,” he added.
