Trump faces another assassination attempt after WHCD shooting? Suspect arrested during King Charles’ visit

A U.S. Secret Service spokesman told Fox News Digital that an individual was arrested and detained by the agency after successfully evading a security checkpoint near the Ellipse, commonly known as Presidents Park South.

A spokesman said criminal charges were imminent, Fox News reported.

The suspect’s identity and motive have not been revealed.

It is unclear whether any weapons were present during the destruction.

The Secret Service is on high alert during a state visit by the British royal family. Earlier today, the law enforcement agency took to its official Instagram account to outline its role in the US-UK meeting.

The Secret Service shared images online showing off its security measures, saying: “Security at state visits is no accident. Today during King Charles III’s arrival at the White House, the Secret Service was on hand at every turn to secure the facility and keep everyone safe.”

King Charles and Queen Camilla arrive in US after WHCD shooting

King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived in the nation’s capital on Monday, less than 48 hours after an armed assailant was shot dead at the Washington Hilton hotel during a White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.

Following the shooting, President Donald Trump was quickly escorted out of the venue by Secret Service agents, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump and several senior Cabinet officials.

The suspected gunman, Cole Allen, 31, from Torrance, California, currently faces multiple charges, including attempting to assassinate the President of the United States, transporting firearms across state lines, and discharging a firearm during a violent crime.

King Charles addressed a joint session of Congress on Tuesday and plans to visit New York City and Virginia thereafter.
