New Delhi: NCP Senior Leader Sharad Pawar Discussions have taken place between the two factions of the Nationalist Congress party over a possible merger, it said on Wednesday Ajit Pawar and Jayant Patil and Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis No right to talk about it. Asserting that he was happy about Sunitra Pawar being sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister, Pawar said, “I am happy that Sunitra Pawar was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister… There were merger discussions between Ajit Pawar and Jayant Patil. Chief Minister Fadnavis was not part of the talks. What right does he have to talk about it?”
“Right now, our whole focus is looking after everyone and moving forward with those who are grieving. As of now, there is no discussion about any political decision,” Pawar said at a press conference in Baramati.Talking to reporters on Monday, Fadnavis said, “If Ajit Pawar is having discussions on merger, will he do so without trusting the BJP? Secondly, assuming he is having such discussions, he is doing this to get out of the NDA while the government is stable. Some people like to create chaos and then use their own ecosystem to amplify the chaos… You all know that the relationship between Ajit Dada and me is such that he shares everything with me.” Even the day before his tragic death, we sat together and chatted for an hour. “On January 28, 66-year-old former Maharashtra deputy MP CM Ajit Pawar died when his plane crashed while trying to land at Baramati Airport in Pune district. After his death, senior Nationalist Congress leader and his widow Sunetra Pawar was sworn in as deputy chief minister to fill the vacancy.Sharad Pawar also spoke about his absence from Parliament on Budget Day for the first time in his long political career. “I have been a member of the Assembly for the past 58 years, be it the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly or the State Lok Sabha. In these 58 years, I have never been absent from the Assembly on Budget day. Unfortunately, due to an accident in my family, I am not able to attend the Assembly on the Budget day this time.”
