Jammu: A joint team of the Army and J&K Police on Wednesday recovered two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and assorted ammunition during an anti-terrorism exercise codenamed ‘Operation Ghani’ in Poonch district, the Army said.“Based on collaborative intelligence inputs from its own sources and J&K Police, White Knights troops and the Special Operations Team of J&K Police launched a joint operation in the Garni forest area of ​​Poonch,” the Army White Knights said in an X post.The search uncovered a cache of weapons hidden beneath a natural cave, the post said. An Army spokesman said: “One large IED weighing 4.5kg, one small IED weighing 800g, two Chinese hand grenades, one 9mm pistol, two 9mm bullets and 22 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were recovered from the scene.”The explosives and ammunition were destroyed on the spot by the bomb disposal team.
