Saratoga Springs fire: Thick smoke billows from Utah’s Eagle Mountain fire; check evacuations, map as scary images emerge

As of this writing, the fire has grown to 2 acres, and WatchDuty says it is spreading rapidly. Resources on the scene are now focused on structural protection, according to a website that tracks fire outbreaks across the United States.

The Eagle Mountain government issued a statement and shared photos of the fire. “Union Fire Department crews are currently responding to a wildfire south of Silver Lake and west of the Saratoga Springs Temple. At this time, no structures are threatened and no evacuations are required. For the safety of first responders and the public, we kindly ask residents to avoid the area and provide space for crews to work,” they wrote.

“South of Ridley Church, west of the Temple,” they said.

“We live in Silver Lake. We walked outside and now I smell like I’ve been camping. Stay safe everyone!” one person wrote. Others noted the high wind speeds and said “this wind isn’t helping.” Another added, “seems to be spreading…”
