The woman, who had been dating Fournier for two months, said Fournier was “obviously drunk” and hit her in the face with a clenched fist when he woke up, People reported.

Fournier, 30, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor simple assault and attempted threats to cause bodily harm.

Ryan Fournier: 5 things you need to know about Trump co-founder’s attack on students

  1. The right-wing activist founded the student organization trump card While attending Campbell University, he later served as executive director of Radical Alert, a conservative group that monitors political violence from the left.
  2. As stated in the affidavit, Fournier allegedly declared, “I’m going to kill everyone in here” and “Do you want to die today?” during the incident.
  3. A witness who was Fournier’s roommate confirmed that the victim appeared to have been hit in the face.
  4. The incident was not Fournier’s first encounter with the legal system; the right-wing figure was reportedly arrested in 2023 for shooting his girlfriend in the face. The district attorney later dismissed charges in the case.
  5. He has entered a not guilty plea to the current charges and a hearing is scheduled for July 7. His legal representatives have yet to make any public statements regarding the incident.

In the affidavit, a witness identified as Fournier’s roommate and friend said he heard the alleged victim trying to wake Fournier, who allegedly yelled, “Don’t touch me, woman!” “You want me to smash your head in with this light?”

As stated on his website, Fournier was named Newsmax ’30 Most Influential Person republican Won the Youth Under 30 Award for two consecutive years. Additionally, he serves as the executive director of Radical Alert, a conservative activist group that claims to monitor left-wing extremism and political violence.
