“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently hospitalized in critical but stable condition,” the spokesman said. “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he is fighting with the same strength as we speak. We ask that you join us in praying for Mayor Rudy Giuliani of the United States.”

Giuliani served as mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001.

Trump shares latest news

“Our great Rudy Giuliani, a true warrior and by far the best mayor in the history of New York City, has been hospitalized in critical condition,” Trump wrote in the Truth Society post. “It’s a tragedy that he was treated so poorly by the radical left maniacs, the Democrats – and he was right about everything! They cheated in the election, made up hundreds of stories, and did whatever it takes to destroy our country, and now, look at Rudy, how sad!”

Rudy Giuliani’s Previous Health Issues

The former New York City mayor was involved in a car accident in New Hampshire last year and suffered multiple injuries. His safety chief, Michael Ragusa, confirmed his vehicle was rear-ended on the highway shortly after he stopped to help a woman involved in domestic violence.

Giuliani was taken to a nearby trauma center, where he was treated for “a fractured thoracic spine, multiple lacerations and contusions, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg,” the statement said.

Giuliani’s son, Andrew Giuliani, publicly thanked supporters at the time.

He wrote on the X: “Thank you to everyone who reached out after hearing the news about my dad. Your prayers mean the world.”

Even before the crash, Giuliani faced one of the biggest personal battles of his life, when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer during a routine physical in 2000. The diagnosis came as he prepared to run against Hillary Clinton for the Senate. Giuliani later revealed that PSA blood screening caught the disease early on, an especially significant moment considering his father died of prostate cancer.

Rather than undergo surgery, Giuliani opted for a treatment plan centered on radiation therapy and radioactive seed implantation in hopes of reducing long-term side effects.

His treatment reportedly included hormone therapy with Lupron, brachytherapy involving the implantation of radioactive seeds, and external-beam radiation therapy directed toward the prostate.

Years later, Giuliani said the experience reshaped his approach to fear and public health advocacy.

“Talk about it. I always find that when I’m afraid of things, if I talk about them, all of a sudden, I’m not so afraid.”
