Terminal 1 is located at RaleighDurham International Airport (RDU) was evacuated early Monday morning after receiving an anonymous threat, CBS affiliate WNCN reported.
Law enforcement officers responded to the terminal, which remained evacuated while they investigated. The RDU said they received the threat at 4.20am
“Law enforcement and TSA “Staff are on site thoroughly inspecting the facility. Safety is our top priority and we ask our passengers to be patient as we work to resume normal operations,” the airport said in a statement on Monday.

Flight operations resume at RDU Terminal 1
A representative informed CBS 17 staff present that the terminal had been closed due to “ongoing safety concerns.”
The evacuation resulted in hundreds of people gathering outside the terminal for nearly two hours. The area was later cleared and reopened at 6 a.m.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and maintain law enforcement personnel at the airport to ensure the safety of all guests and employees,” the airport said, CBS 17 reported.
The incident comes just days after an Air Canada plane collided with a fire truck on the runway, killing two pilots and injuring several others. LaGuardia Airport New York Airport.
The crash, which occurred late Sunday and halted flights at major transportation hub LaGuardia Airport, left the Bombardier jet’s tail awkwardly positioned and its cockpit severely damaged, adjacent to the crashed emergency vehicle.
The aircraft was operated by Jazz Aviation, a air canadaconfirmed that the CRJ-900 aircraft had arrived at LaGuardia Airport from Montreal, flight number 8646.
