New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh “Future wars will not be won through weapons alone, but through innovative thinking and enhanced synergy,” he said on Friday, advising commanders of the three services to cultivate “the element of surprise in any given situation, as this is necessary to ensure strategic advantage”.Addressing the Second Joint Commanders’ Conference in Jaipur on Friday, the Defense Minister emphasized the need to strengthen capabilities in artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, data analytics and secure communication networks to stay prepared in the rapidly evolving geopolitical security situation. He also advised commanders to remain vigilant against sudden enemy attacks and always stay two steps ahead.He stressed that future conflicts will increasingly be shaped by hybrid threats, information dominance and simultaneous operations across cyber, space, electromagnetic and cognitive domains. He highlighted the transformative impact of emerging technologies and stressed the importance of ensuring comprehensive national preparedness in all areas of conflict.Rajnath appreciated the progress made by the three services in enhancing jointness, integration and adoption of technology. He said the operation demonstrated India’s growing capabilities and symbolized the country’s collective resolve and new military spirit.Rajnath reiterated the government’s commitment to enhance the capabilities of the defense forces through state-of-the-art weapons and platforms. We are particularly focusing on research in niche areas, he added. He also issued the Hindi version of Vision 2047 and Joint Doctrine on Integrated Communications Architecture to enhance doctrinal clarity, interoperability and integrated communications for the armed forces in future multi-domain operations.
