Princess eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are expecting their third child, Buckingham the palace has announced.
“His Majesty king have been informed and are delighted with the news,” the palace said on social media.
News that the couple’s two children, August, five, and Ernest, two, are “also very excited to have another sibling join the family.”
The baby is due this summer.
The 36-year-old princess also shared the news on her Instagram account, along with a photo of her young son holding a scan of the baby.
“Baby Brooksbank due in 2026!” read the caption, followed by a series of red hearts and a baby emoji.
The newcomer – who will not be His Royal Highness – will be 15th in line to the throne, ahead of their great-uncle Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh.
Brooksbank celebrated his 40th birthday on Sunday.
He and Princess Eugenie married in October 2018 and welcomed their first child in February 2021. Their second son, Ernest, was born in May 2023.
The baby will be the fifth grandson of the princess’ father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

After announcing their engagement in January 2018, Brooksbank told the BBC that meeting Eugenie felt like “love at first sight.”
The couple dated for more than seven years, with Brooksbank proposing in January 2018 while on vacation in Nicaragua. Later that year, they exchanged vows on October 12 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Although Brooksbank was born into British aristocracy and later married into the British royal family, he did not hold a royal title of his own.
