Kalamazoo County Dispatch issued an update after a massive power outage affected thousands of people in Portage, Michigan, on Saturday.
“Kalamazoo County Dispatch is aware of the power outage affecting Portage. Please contact Consumers Energy directly for restoration times,” the government group wrote on Facebook, adding that if the traffic light is out, the intersection should be considered a four-way stop.
The warning states that public services and transportation may be affected by the power outage, but there have been no reports of this. Portage is located south of the city of Kalamazoo and is part of the Kalamazoo-Portage Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to Consumer Energy, more than 7,000 people have been affected, with the South Westnedge Avenue and I-94 areas the most affected.
