J.D. Vance returns to Washington unexpectedly, claims report fuels speculation about Iran

Conservative commentator Nick Salt claimed that Vice President JD Vance U.S. President Donald Trump made a surprise return to Washington, D.C., on Saturday as he convened an emergency meeting of his national security team to consider Iran. Nick Sauter also cited Fox News reports that Trump had a “breakthrough” call with Middle Eastern leaders on Iran.The United States and Iran are expected to announce a finalized draft peace agreement by Sunday afternoon, the Washington Times reported. According to reports, senior negotiators including Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Karifbaf, Vice President Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner have approved the draft.“Just in the past 24 hours: Trump skipped his son’s wedding. What is going on?!!!”President Trump earlier announced that he would have to skip the wedding of his son Donald Trump Jr. to Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson in the Bahamas. “I think it’s important for me to stay in Washington, D.C., in the White House during this important time. Congratulations to Don and Bettina!” Trump said on “The Truth Society.” While that raised eyebrows, reports surfaced that Don and Anderson were already married, with a marriage license filed in Palm Beach County showing they were legally married on Thursday. Although Bettina Anderson wanted a White House wedding, the Bahamas ceremony was only for close friends and family.Trump was previously married to Vanessa Trump, who announced this week that she was battling breast cancer. Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump have remained close despite their divorce, celebrating their daughter Kay before her prom, 19th birthday party and, in recent days, her graduation. Kay and Don’s other children were scheduled to attend the Bahamas wedding.
