PM Modi’s assurance to West Bengal – 7th Pay Commission, corrupt TMC members to be jailed

new delhi – Unveiling a set of “six assurances” for West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday claimed that the BJP government will take firm action against illegal infiltration, implement the 7th Pay Commission and ensure that no “TMC goons” or “goondas” escape justice.Addressing a public rally in Haldia, Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence in the political turnaround in the state, saying: “Bengal has decided to overcome all odds this time. The entire Bengal will change.”

‘Law will rule Bengal again’: PM Modi announces six assurances, steps up attack on Mamata government

“This cruel government will definitely quit,” he added, launching a blistering attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress party.“TMC is dragging Bengal down”, he claimed, adding that corruption and criminal protection were entrenched in the system. He further claimed that illegal activities such as livestock smuggling are rampant under the current policy.

Six guarantees

Outlining his assurances, Prime Minister Modi said the BJP would ensure strict enforcement of laws and accountability if voted to power:

  1. The BJP government will replace the prevailing atmosphere of fear with trust and restore faith in the rule of law.
  2. Administrative agencies will be fully accountable to the public they serve.
  3. All files on every scam, every act of corruption, every injustice committed against a daughter and every case of rape will be reopened.
  4. Anyone who engages in corrupt practices under the TMC regime should be jailed. “Whether it is a minister or a watchman, the law will hold everyone accountable. TMC goons will no longer be able to evade the law.”
  5. Refugees will be given all the rights and privileges guaranteed by the Constitution, while infiltrators will be deported and not allowed to stay in India.
  6. The 7th Pay Commission will be implemented as soon as the BJP government is formed.

Bangladesh’s “dual-engine government”

Prime Minister Modi emphasized that West Bengal’s best interest lies in the joint efforts of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, making the “dual-engine government” crucial for the state.“Bangladesh’s best interest does not lie in enmity against the Prime Minister; on the contrary, the people will gain maximum benefit if the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister work together. This is why a dual-engine government is absolutely necessary for Bengal. A dual-engine government will make Bangladesh self-reliant in the fisheries and seafood sector,” he said.

Promote fisheries sector

The Prime Minister highlighted the steps taken by the central government to boost the fisheries sector across the country, including the establishment of a separate Ministry of Fisheries – for the first time since independence.“For the first time after decades of independence, our government has established a unique Fisheries Ministry to cater to the needs of fishermen, fishermen families and the entire blue economy,” Prime Minister Modi said.He added that the BJP has allocated a record budget for the welfare of fishermen, provided Kisan Credit Card (KCC) facility and provided insurance up to Rs 5 lakh to fishermen, which has benefited lakhs of people. He added that the central scheme faces resistance in the state due to political considerations. “The increase in fish production has been strongly supported by Prime Minister Matsya Sampada Yojana. However, they have doubts about it as it carries a ‘PM’ tag,” he said.“TMC leaders may hate me, but in this hatred, they have not even spared the word ‘Prime Minister’,” PM Modi added.Polling for the 294-member West Bengal Assembly will be held in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with counting scheduled for May 4. The rally is seen as important for the BJP’s efforts to maintain its political influence in the region, which has become a central battleground in its contest with the TMC.
