Peter Attiyah, Epstein spat sparks boycott call for CBS, Barry Weiss; TV doctors demand action

Dr. Jen Ashton, a popular TV doctor and former medical reporter for ABC News and “Good Morning America,” vowed not to appear on CBS until Bari Weiss fired Peter Attia. The latter’s name appears more than 1,700 times in the latest Jeffrey Epstein dossier released by the Justice Department.

Ashton has one demand: CBS fire Atiyah. “I will not be on CBS while Peter Attiyah is still under contract with CBS,” she said in an Instagram video. “I think that’s terrible for me, and I feel like the American people deserve more. I feel like they deserve information from a qualified, highly qualified, ethical person.”

Dr. Jen Ashton is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and obesity medicine physician. She holds a master’s degree in nutrition from Columbia University.

“Working at a major news network involves something called a ethics clause. It’s not necessarily that you committed a crime. It’s about your behavior. I’ve seen people … get fired or suspended for sending over 1,700 emails with known and convicted pedophiles and criminals,” the 56-year-old added.

Atiyah has not been fired from CBS News. U.S. Justice Department documents show that the 52-year-old, known as the celebrity doctor, actively emailed Epstein between 2015 and 2019.

In one email, Atiyah can be seen talking about the “outrageous” lifestyle of the convicted sex financier and pedophile, which he could not “tell anyone”.

“Is that admirable, respectable and reflective of your desire to get information from people who may impact your life, health and well-being?” Ashton asked. “In my book, the answer is no,” she said.

Peter Rahal, founder of protein bar company David Protein, posted on the X (formerly Twitter) platform that Peter Attia has resigned as the company’s chief scientific officer.

CBS News is expected to sever ties with Atiyah, who was named a writer as part of editor-in-chief Barry Weiss’ strategy to restructure the business, The Wrap reports.

According to The Wrap, Weiss didn’t want to sever ties with Atiyah, which led to a fight between the CBS News CEO and Paramount.

In Monday’s X post, Atiyah denied any involvement in criminal activity. But he apologized and said he was “ashamed” of the emails, which included “vulgar, tasteless jokes”.
