Pam Bondi fired: Democrats attack former attorney general with ‘open jobs’ post

President of the United States Donald Trump Fired Attorney General Pam Bondi, a move that sparked reactions across the political spectrum.

Trump confirmed the decision in a Truth Society post, praising Bundy as a “great American patriot” who had done a “great job” during her term. He also announced that the Deputy Attorney General Todd Branch Will take over as interim attorney general, calling him “an extremely talented and respected legal mind.”

Bundy is expected to transition to the private sector after assisting with the transition.

Bundy’s firing drew derision not only from Democrats but also from within the Republican Party, particularly for her handling of the Epstein documents controversy.

According to the US “Mirror” report, Republican Congressman Nancy Mace said that Bondi handled the documents in a “horrible way” and “severely damaged President Trump’s interests.”

Mace also accused Bundy of “impeding all efforts to hold criminals accountable,” adding that Americans “deserve an attorney general who is transparent and holds true accountability.”

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh also criticized Bundy, calling the controversy a major misstep and saying she should have been removed sooner.

Bondi confirms transition plan

In response to the development, Bondi said she would help ensure a smooth transition before taking on a new role in the private sector.

“Over the next month, I will work tirelessly to transition the Office of the Attorney General to the amazing Todd Branch,” she wrote on X, adding that she was “excited” for her next chapter.

She also described her tenure as “the honor of a lifetime.”

Bundy’s exit comes amid scrutiny of her handling of documents related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epsteinan issue that has drawn bipartisan criticism.
